Meet the New It-Girls Swimwear Brand “Same Swim”

Last year, the bikinis we have seen on It-Girls all over Instagram are “Kiini.” While Kiinii, the colorful bikinis made from crochet and scuba fabric might be on the expensive side, it is so popular that it was sold out in every single online shopping website from Net-A-Porter to Barney. You might have spotted Kiini on celebrities and fashion blogger such as Anna Dello Russo, Julia Restoin Roitfeld and Dree Hemmingway.

Who What Wear: This is your first major foray into design. What made you choose swimwear?
Shea Marie: It's such an exciting time for swimwear—more and more, it's really being...

As new year started, I am sure the it-girls are now looking for another cool bikinis to wear on her getaway or on her holidays trip and let me introduce you to ‘Same Swim’ the bikinis you are about to see all over Instagram. Same Swim might have just been launched on October 2015 and started shipping its first order on December 2015 but it already has over 50k followers on Instagram and was spotted on Kendall Jenner during her cruise trip. The reason the brand gains popularity so quickly is because it was created by Shea Maria, the fashion influencer and fashion blogger of Peace Love Shea who currently has over 900k followers on Instagram and is a regular at all major fashion weeks and was promoted by her fellow fashion influencers.

Shea Marie said on her interview with Whowhatwear.com answering to the question on why she chose swimwear as her first fashion line “It's such an exciting time for swimwear—more and more, it's really being seen as a respected form of fashion. I've been attending fashion weeks for the past four weeks, New York to Paris, and nearly every designer has sent swim down the runway.” Shea has made a very smart move as now it is the time for luxury swimwear. A lot of women are already spending thousands of dollars on her dresses to wear to work or for going out, it makes sense to think that the same woman would also be spending the similar amount of money on her swimwear just because she would want to look as good on the beach and in a pool.

You can now buy Same Swim at Revolve Clothing, Shopbop and SameSwim

I Write My Own Future

This morning, I woke up to a whole new level of consciousness. It’s like I have been living my life unconsciously all this while. I was there in every single event in my life but I was not fully present. I let other people defined how my life turns out to be because I think there is something called destiny. But now I have realized that the only person who has the power to determine my future is me. I am the author of my own life. In fact, everybody has this ability to create their own destiny, it is our birthright, but not many people believe so. This is why there are only a small number of successful people in the world. Earl Nightingale once said “the only difference between the men who earn big incomes and those who earn small incomes is that those earning big incomes decided to earn more” This totally makes sense to me. The people who never decided to be rich will never think about what they should do in order to be financially independent. In the same philosophy, the people who never decided to be happy will never learn how to be happy.

Life is beautiful, full of abundance and prosperity. Focus on the positive aspects of your life and you will only see more of that. Lately I came across a lot of inspirational young people on YouTube who are living the life doing what they are passionate about instead of what society thing they should do. All of them have one thing in common which is the belief that they can achieve whatever it is they want to. One of the examples is a channel called ‘High On Life’ on Youtube. The channel is created by four guys who love traveling. Initially they are people who are doing 9-5 jobs but now they are just are traveling the world for living. All of this could happen only because they decided to make it happen. They destroyed the belief of the majority that traveling is only for the rich by being the living proof that you can travel the world starting with a small amount of saving. Don’t let your financial limitation of today prevent you from having the life that you want. Your limitation of today is NOT your limitation of tomorrow. Change your thought, change your action, and change your perspective about money and you will be much more fulfill in life. Yes it is true that you can do more when you are rich but that doesn’t mean that you cannot travel with little money. I, too, love traveling and would love to travel around Europe while I can. My friends look at me and thought I am rich to be able to travel this much but the truth is I just perceive money and luxury different than they do. Whenever I go on a trip, I chose to spend more money on the experience instead of on the accommodation. I stay in a hostel or Airbnb so that I can spend more on food, airplane, train ticket or the admission to tourist attractions and be able to stay longer in one place. When I went to Sicily for one week, I was able to travel across the Island from the East to the West and from the North to the South only because I was using mostly public transportation. Yes it is tiring to use public transportation in Sicily and it consumes a lot of time but in the end I get to see all the highlights of Sicily and I feel very accomplish by that. To me the luxury of traveling is not staying in 5 stars hotel or dine in Michelin stars restaurant but getting to watch the sunset in a different location, eating at local restaurants, going to new places, climbing a new mountain, swimming in a sea I have never been to and meeting the wonderful people along the way.

Anyway my point for this post is, you really have the ability to write your own future. You can be whoever you want as long as you believe in it.

Do MORE of what makes you happy!!

The photos are taken at Capo Gallo National Reserve near Mondello beach in Sicily. It was a beautiful place, the water is crystal clear and landscape is much more beautiful than Mondello beach. I encourage you to go there if you have a chance to visit Mondello beach.

I Dreamed a Dream, Bangkok Night

For this post, I am taking you back to where I come from, Bangkok. Bangkok is a place I can always call home. It is my comfort zone, a place I know the best, a place where I can always find my friends. It has been a very long time since I left Bangkok but somehow I can always feel at ease whenever I go back there. Maybe because I know that whenever I go there, there will be people waiting to see me. Now that I think about it, I have spent 7 years abroad in 4 different countries, 2 continents and still planning to add in more countries to my list. It is a big accomplishment for someone from a small country who you might not even know about and this can only happen because I have a dream.

I have a dream, I always have a dream. When I was young I dreamed of being a model. But as I grew up I find myself being drawn into the world of science and technology and growing up in a family of a doctor, I was always encouraged to study science. When I was 12 years old, my father gave me a book called “Goals” by Brian Tracy. It was the best book I have ever read in my entire life. After reading the book, my life suddenly has a purpose. I started to set my goals, to think about what do I want to be in the future. I set my goal to get into the best high school in Thailand. It was a pretty big goal for a twelve year old who wasn’t even the best student in her class at that time. But at least, I turned my dream into a goal and I got in this high school as I set my goal to. Then I had some international exposures in high school that inspired me to study abroad. So, I tried to apply to the universities in the USA. I got into University of Southern California but in the end I did not go there because of my financial situation at that time. Fast forward, I graduated from an engineering school in Korea. I had to decide what to do with my life after graduation and I chose to work instead of taking master degree like most of my friends are doing because I think there are much more to learn in the real world. I then had to decide where I want to work. I could not see myself working in Thailand so I took an international job and has been working as an expat since my first year of work. Then I moved to my dream city, Milan. Working abroad is my most valuable life experience. A lot of things have changed in my life, mostly internally. I have grown so much that my new friends always think I am older than my age because they said I am very mature.

I think last month I wrote that the biggest change of my life is that I changed from a girl who doesn’t exercise to a girl who exercises 3-4 times per week. Well guess what now I am going to the gym 5 times per week and I couldn’t be happier. I don’t know how I have changed so much. Maybe because I always have a picture of how I see myself in 1,2,5,10 years in my head so subconsciously I am trying to match the picture I have. Right now, I am seeing myself as a fitness model so I am taking every action to make my dream come true. I train harder than before, I have been in touch with a lot of photographers and I am collecting my portfolio.

Let me share with you some dreams I have right now. At some point of my life, I would love to live in the following cities: New York, Los Angeles, London, doesn’t have to be in this order. Meanwhile, in the next three years, I want to travel to Malta, Santorini, Mykonos, Dubrovnik, Prague, Budapest, Lisbon, Valensole, Amsterdam, Marrakesh, Dubai, Mont Blanc, Dolomites, Interlaken, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Mexico City, Cancun, Rio de Janeiro, salt flat in Bolivia, Machu Picchu, Norway, Iceland, Faroe Islands, Maldives, Bora Bora and the list goes on and I want to share those moments with the people that I love. I do not know how it will happen but I know it will happen if I take actions toward it. If you want to join my journey or you can help make my dream come true, let me know.
